Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ previous supervisory experience in logistics or an operational environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be available to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in all weather conditions
  • The candidates should have the ability to drill down, understand root causes, and resolve complex issues
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent focus, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have general equivalency diploma and possess a valid driver’s license
  • The candidates should be able to read and understand safety instructions, operating rules and regulations, and other written or printed material in English
  • The candidates should be proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to lead a unionized team in maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs on locomotives, mobile equipment, and vehicles used in plant, yard, and road service
  • The candidates should be able to ensure repairs and train servicing comply with Association of American Railroads, Transport Canada standards, and CPKC policies
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with internal and external partners to improve fluidity and achieve the Local Service Operating Plan and Operating Plan
  • The candidates should be able to provide leadership accountability for safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics
  • The candidates should be able to lead safety compliance within the terminal by implementing corrective actions and promoting a culture of safety through discussions
  • The candidates should be able to conduct briefings to ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and effectively communicated to the next Supervisor on shift
  • The candidates should be able to mentor and coach the team through active observation and provide constructive feedback
