Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language

Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in a railway work equipment maintenance environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have GED equivalent, ensuring a foundational education for the role and demonstrating extensive hands-on experience in the field and hold a Journeyman certificate as a heavy-duty mechanic, which is preferred for this position, indicating a recognized level of expertise
- The candidates should demonstrate capability in applying relevant knowledge and technical skills to monitor adherence to CPKC policies and standards, as well as regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance in operations
- The candidates should be rules qualified, reflecting an understanding of necessary regulations and protocols in the railway industry
- The candidates should possess proficient computer skills, including a working knowledge of CPKC systems such as SAP, enabling effective use of technology in their role
- The candidates should be able to simultaneously manage priorities and ensure the delivery of key performance metrics during both emergency and non-emergency operations, highlighting their ability to perform under pressure
- The candidates should demonstrate strong people leadership skills, enabling them to guide and support team members effectively
- The candidates should have good communication skills, facilitating clear and effective interactions with team members and stakeholders
- The candidates should have the ability to influence peers, cross-functional co-managers, and leadership, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to drive collaboration
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to supervise and monitor the performance of maintainers to ensure the reliability of work equipment as directed by the Manager of Work Equipment
- The candidates should be able to ensure the application of CPKC safety practices, policies, and procedures to promote a safe working environment
- The candidates should be able to monitor financial results expected within their assigned budgets to maintain fiscal accountability
- The candidates should be able to ensure PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) is scheduled on vehicles and equipment assigned to their area and evaluate inspection reports for compliance
- The candidates should be able to implement work processes or changes that achieve continuous improvement in maintenance operations
- The candidates should be able to arrange for and prepare condition reports for all work equipment to ensure proper documentation and compliance
- The candidates should be able to ensure equipment work order management and maintenance records are kept accurate for effective tracking and reporting
- The candidates should be able to maintain cross-functional relationships within the assigned territory to facilitate effective communication and collaboration
- The candidates should be able to monitor inventory to safety stock levels to prevent operational disruptions
- The candidates should be able to mentor and coach maintainers and machine operators to improve their effectiveness and skills
