Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate
Experience: Candidates should have electrical construction experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to effectively exchange information and capable of thinking critically
- The candidates should exhibit the ability to manage time and tasks and work independently
Other Requirements:
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to coordinate and perform electrical inspections in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities, fire and life safety inspections, and building accessibility inspections within the central region of NL, with rare travel to or within Labrador
- The candidates should be able to ensure compliance with the Public Safety Act and associated Regulations, the Canadian Electrical Code, the National Building Code, the National Fire and Life Safety Code, and the Building Accessibility Act and Regulations
- The candidates should be able to conduct investigations on complaints within these areas and initiate corrective action on non-compliance
- The candidates should be able to process applications for registration of electricians and contractors
- The candidates should be able to initiate prosecutions for violations of the Public Safety Act, gathering evidence and preparing detailed documentation to support Crown prosecution in court proceedings
- The candidates should be able to testify in court proceedings as required as a witness for the Crown
- The candidates should be able to complete all inspection reports timely and in compliance with DGSNL policies and procedures and perform other related duties
