Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should hold a valid 4th Class Power Engineer certificate recognized in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador
Experience: Candidates should have experience in the operation and maintenance of a high-pressure process steam, heating plant, facility, and related auxiliary equipment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to lift or move objects weighing 10 to 25 lbs regularly, and occasionally lift or move objects over 50 lbs
- The work will be performed both inside and outside, sometimes in adverse weather conditions and the ability to independently manage time and tasks efficiently
- The candidates should have the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively and be a team player with a strong collaborative mindset
- The candidates should provide a current Driver’s Abstract suitable to the Employer and travel throughout the Region
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess knowledge in the operation and maintenance of high-pressure process steam, heating plant, facility, and related auxiliary equipment
- The candidates should be knowledgeable about Occupational Health and Safety regulations and safe work practices
- The candidates should have a valid Province of Newfoundland and Labrador Class 05 license
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide advanced, skilled mechanical and plumbing work at the full journey person level, including installation, maintenance, and repair at the Grand Falls-Windsor Campus and other buildings in the Grand Falls-Windsor area
- The candidates should be able to maintain mechanical and plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with approved codes, trade practices, and facility policies
- The candidates should be able to work across several building trades, collaborating with other maintenance staff and occupants, and potentially with other employees or contractors on-site
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings to guide work activities
- The candidates should be able to liaise with facility management to ensure compliance with procedures and perform snow clearing, lawn care, and other related work
- The candidates should be able to work closely with the installation of Bio Mass Boilers, serving as a liaison between the Building Manager and contractors in the area
