Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook, and inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Equipment and machinery experience: Flatbed
Credentials: Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have attention to detail and be comfortable with repetitive tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform tasks while sitting
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate flexibility, be organized, and exhibit reliability
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy and load and unload goods
- The candidates should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, oversee the condition of the vehicle, and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
- The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance, receive and relay information to central dispatch, and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
- The candidates should be able to tarping and ensure the safety and security of cargo
