Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports, dangerous goods occurrence reports, driver logbook, inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, and trip reports
Credentials: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail in their work and be capable of handling repetitive tasks efficiently
- The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be organized in their approach to tasks and projects and be team players capable of collaborating effectively with others
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to load and unload goods and operate/drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, and perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
- The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, oversee all aspects of the vehicle, receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo
