Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent and have a clean driving record
Experience: Candidates should have experience in shooting and editing

  • The candidates should have a passion for storytelling, knowing what makes a great story and how to tell it effectively
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to find original stories about people and issues that reflect Calgary’s exciting and diverse communities

  • The candidates should have an understanding of multi-platform coverage, not confined by a ‘typical’ television reporter package
  • The candidates should be able to multitask and deliver for multiple, daily online and broadcast deadlines as news moves fast
  • The candidates should be prepared to work evenings and weekends due to the nature of the job

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to work with a dynamic team to produce creative stories that capture daily life in Calgary
  • The candidates should be able to come up with original story ideas and produce original stories that they will shoot and edit
  • The candidates should be able to deliver stories that will stand out from the competition, emphasizing creativity over traditional methods
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that their stories are digital first and also deliver for all platforms (radio, TV, and web)
