Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a Secondary school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 6 months of experience in a warehousing, logistics, and transportation environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working within a standard warehouse environment where steel-toed shoes are required. The environment is generally climate controlled, but occasional, brief exposure to heat or cold may occur. Occasional exposure to short bursts of noise over 85 dB may occur; hearing protection is offered but not mandatory
- The candidates should expect standard work hours from Monday to Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week, including a daily half-hour unpaid lunch break. These hours can vary between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m
- The candidates should be prepared for tasks that are non-repetitive in nature and can be frequently reassigned due to changing priorities
- The candidates should be able to work overtime, following applicable provincial Employment Standards legislation
- The candidates should be aware that this position requires a high degree of standing and walking, as well as bending and crouching, etc.
- The candidates should anticipate frequent lifting of objects up to 20 kg, with objects over 20 kg requiring team lifting
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be familiar with the use of computers, computerized business management systems, and the use of RF scanners
- The candidates should be trained for the proper use of ladders
- The candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- The candidates should have the ability to work in a fluid and fast-paced environment, with frequent short timelines
- The candidates should have the ability to have a flexible work schedule to respond to customers, whether internal or external
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to unload inbound trucks and trailers in compliance with safe material handling procedures and stage the goods in the receiving lane as directed
- The candidates should be able to assist with the processing of inbound shipments, including sorting, quality checking, count verification, re-palletizing, and load securement
- The candidates should be able to perform put-away of products on shelves and lower-level racks using manual material handling equipment, RF scanning equipment, and updating bin locations in Compugen systems as required
- The candidates should be able to retrieve goods from various storage locations as per the details on the pick slips, ensuring that the goods picked are the correct item, from the correct location, and in the correct quantity
- The candidates should be able to deliver the goods to the appropriate Configuration bench or shipping lane
- The candidates should be able to retrieve completed goods from the Configuration area and deliver them to the appropriate staging area, ensuring the accuracy of the part number and quantity per order
- The candidates should be able to carry out the appropriate transactions in Compugen systems to signify the completion of the picking stage
- The candidates should be able to retrieve orders from the shipping lanes in accordance with the priority and sequence established by the Warehouse & Logistics Lead
- The candidates should be able to prepare orders for shipment by double-checking the accuracy and item count of goods staged in the shipping lanes
- The candidates should be able to process the orders in Compugen systems to signify the completion of the shipping stage, ensuring the completion and accuracy of pertinent carrier, BOL, tracking information, etc.
- The candidates should be able to lift, move, or reposition material/equipment as needed for the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse
- The candidates should be able to open, close, tape, and label boxes and wrap products as needed
- The candidates should be able to stack and unstack products
- The candidates should be able to move pallets of products from one location to another, with the use of a manual pallet jack or other equipment, as directed
- The candidates should be able to participate in specialized sorting/packaging programs designed for specific customer requirements as required
- The candidates should be able to maintain a clean and safe work environment, including sweeping and emptying garbage from all areas of the warehouse
- The candidates should be able to use all prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) in the intended manner
- The candidates should be able to adhere to all safety policies and procedures as trained
- The candidates should be attentive to the well-being of themselves and all co-workers
- The candidates should be able to report all unsafe acts or conditions to the area Supervisor without delay
