Welding techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW), Flux core arc welding (FCAW), Plasma arc welding (PAW), and Submerged arc welding (SAW)
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Area of specialization: Structural construction and Cast iron and other metals
Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine, Brazing machine, Butt or seam resistance welding machine, Gas welding machine, Soldering machine, Spot welding machine, and Electrical wiring devices
Credentials: Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in noisy environments
- The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be a team player
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes, and examine welds to ensure they meet standards
- The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software
- The candidates should be able to operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines, and fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
- The candidates should be able to operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air) (AOC) and determine the weldability of materials
- The candidates should be able to operate hoisting and lifting equipment and previously set-up welding or brazing/soldering machines
- The candidates should be able to start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines
