Type of materials: Aluminum alloys, composite materials, copper and copper alloys, nickel alloys, non-ferrous materials
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Area of specialization: Machinery or equipment repair, pressure vessels, large diameter pipelines, factory assembly, cast iron, and other metals
Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux core arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate attention to detail in their work
- The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads and able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- The candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral communication skills and exhibit flexibility in adapting to changing situations
- The candidates should be organized in their approach to tasks and responsibilities and be team players, capable of collaborating effectively with others
- The candidates should prioritize punctuality in their work and be hardworking and committed to achieving goals
- The candidates should demonstrate resourcefulness in problem-solving
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes, and examine welds to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications
- The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and use computer-aided design (CAD)
- The candidates should be able to fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal, and determine the weldability of materials
- The candidates should be able to operate hoisting and lifting equipment and previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
- The candidates should be able to operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal
