Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have National Lifeguard Pool certification
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should hold a National Lifeguard Waterfront certification
- The candidates should possess a CPR Basic Rescuer “C” Certificate
- The candidates should have Standard First Aid certification
- The candidates should provide a Police Record Check
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform general lifeguard duties under the direction of a supervisor, including rowboats and foot patrols
- The candidates should be able to supervise and promote safety and order on public beaches/outdoor pools
- The candidates should be able to perform assigned duties to prevent loss of life and damage to property
- The candidates should be able to perform lookout duties and administer first aid, if and when required
- The candidates should be able to inspect facilities/vessels for safety equipment
- The candidates should be able to patrol and/or scan assigned swimming areas
- The candidates should be able to make rescues and render assistance to bathers in difficulty
- The candidates should be able to administer resuscitation and first aid treatments
- The candidates should be able to check lifeguard equipment to ensure proper condition and keep the same in readiness at all times
- The candidates should be able to promote water and beach safety practices
- The candidates should be able to check beach and pool equipment and areas for condition and cleanliness
- The candidates should be able to perform a variety of tasks such as removing glass, seaweed, and driftwood from the beach area, emptying garbage containers, erecting or resetting beach signs, and ensuring the cleanliness of the bathhouse and adjacent area
