Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have hold a BSW, BA in Child and Youth Care in social sciences
Experience: Candidates should have five or more years of child safety experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should a related degree, or an MSW, MA in Counselling Psychology with a completed practicum in family and child welfare
  • The candidates should ensure that their degree, if obtained outside of Canada, has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES) and provide a basic report by the posting’s closing date
  • The candidates should have one (1) or more years of clinical experience working in Youth Transition, providing a wide range of community-based services
  • The candidates should have experience in program and policy development and two (2) or more years of experience providing training and group facilitation
  • The candidates should have one (1) or more years of experience establishing relationships in the community, one (1) or more years of experience developing issue papers, Information, Briefing Notes
  • The candidates should have one (1) or more years of experience independently managing projects and recent supervisory experience within a unionized environment (within the last four years)
  • The candidates should possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restrictions or an equivalent license from another Canadian province and experience developing and monitoring budgets and contract administration

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to lead a team of subject matter experts to support service delivery best practices in youth transitions, SAJE, and youth justice programs
  • The candidates should be able to provide clinical consultation, policy interpretation, and mentoring to practitioners, team leaders, and the Director of Operations
  • The candidates should be able to manage administrative and budget processes to ensure that service and resource requirements are met effectively
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with other Directors of Practice across MCFD to develop and enhance provincial and regional programs, services, and practices, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation
