Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate a cash register, process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments, and scan items
- The candidates should be able to tabulate the total payment for goods or services required, receive payment for goods or services, and calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales
- The candidates should be able to engage in suggestive selling, stock shelves, clean the counter area, greet customers, and wrap or place merchandise in bags
- The candidates should be able to weigh produce and bulk foods, provide customer service, assist customers with self-checkout, and monitor all entrances and exits, requesting proof of payment when necessary
- The candidates should be able to participate in promotional activities and verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products
