Salary: $18.34 hourly 12 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Corner Brook, NL
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation, own vehicle, and valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Group home, work in employer’s/client’s home, and private residence
Supervision: 1 to 2 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Work experience with special needs students: Assistance with personal hygiene
Area of work experience: Reports and records
Area of specialization: Training and professional development
Credentials: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, medical exam, and immunization records
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be capable of working under pressure
- The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding tasks
- The candidates should be able to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, demonstrate excellent oral communication, and exhibit good judgment
- The candidates should have a client focus, demonstrate excellent written communication, and display flexibility
- The candidates should show initiative and be team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide suicide and crisis intervention, resolve conflict situations, and supervise activities of clients living in group homes and halfway houses
- The candidates should be able to assist clients/guests with special needs, accompany clients to appointments and social outings, and ensure occupational health and safety standards are met
- The candidates should be able to maintain a clean and safe work environment
