Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a four year Bachelor degree
Experience: Candidates should have three years’ experience with advising and working with student organizations

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have group leadership and supervisory skills
  • The candidates should have presentation and training experience
  • The candidates should have the ability to translate student development theory to practice
  • The candidates should have proven experience in building relationships with partner organizations based on trust, respect, genuineness and commitment
  • The candidates should have excellent writing skills for website content, newsletters, and social media posts
  • The candidates should have broad knowledge of computer software, including CRM systems, WordPress, the Adobe suite and student life and related issues
  • The candidates should have high familiarity and comfort with social media platforms and emerging platforms for student engagement
  • The candidates should have experience coordinating large-scale special events or student activities in a university or college setting
  • The candidates should have experience in creative and promotional writing and developing content for, monitoring social media sites and with both advising and supervising student staff or groups
  • The candidates should have an understanding of student transition and the importance of student engagement and student development theory and intentional program design

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to coordinate all digital content production and oversee the social presence of the Student Life Team (International Student Services Office and the Student Experience Office)
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate programs and initiatives within the transition support and student engagement mandate of the office
  • The candidates should be able to enhance the co-curricular experiences of all Carleton undergraduate students through initiatives such as Summer Orientation, CU 1001, Faculty Orientation Program Support, and participation in recruitment events
