Salary: $15.40 to $22.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 1 to 45 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Certificate, Child development assistant (ECE level 1), Child development supervisor (ECE level 3), Child development worker (ECE level 2), Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality by being on time for all scheduled shifts and tasks, and be dependable by consistently meeting their commitments and responsibilities
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility by adapting to changing conditions and job requirements, and be effective team players by collaborating well with others to achieve common goals

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties, bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to perform storytelling, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, prepare snacks, and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment, synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents, and assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
