- The candidates should have excellent oral communication and excellent written communication
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess children’s development to prepare a tailored learning plan, synthesize the overall situation to communicate with parents, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems, preparing reports and submitting written observations to educators or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties, maintain daycare equipment, order supplies and equipment, and assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and prepare snacks while arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, assist early childhood educators in carrying out these programs, and encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest, and engaging them by preparing crafts
- The candidates should be able to discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings, attend meetings to collaborate with co-workers and community service providers, and establish guidelines for behaviour while ensuring compliance with licensing regulations
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
