Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have current Standard First Aid or CPR C from an accredited organization, or the ability to obtain within 1 month of the date of hire
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be a minimum of 18 years of age
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be a Certified Fitness Instructor from an accredited organization
- The candidates should demonstrate ability during practical
- The candidates should possess exceptional customer service and communication skills
- The candidates should be able to communicate with participants regarding program opportunities and accident prevention
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to plan, organize, and implement a high-quality program that is stimulating and enjoyable for all participants, reporting to the Recreation Programmer and Coordinator
- The candidates should be able to ensure the safety and well-being of registered participants at all times
- The candidates should be able to plan, organize, and deliver high-quality, safe, and stimulating fitness classes for all levels of participants
- The candidates should be able to keep current with industry trends and new class formats and to attend meetings and training
- The candidates should be able to provide a high level of front-line customer service, including greeting and engaging participants in on-site and off-site promotional and community events
- The candidates should be able to maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation, a safe and tidy program space, ensuring equipment is set up and stored appropriately and an understanding of department programs and services
- The candidates should be able to complete administrative duties in a timely manner, such as attendance, incident or accident reports, opening and closing procedures and all concerns, accidents, and incidents to their immediate supervisor and take appropriate action
- The candidates should be able to understand, adhere to and enforce Corporate Policies and Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
