Location: Halifax, NS
Shifts: Day, 07:00 to 16:00
Transportation information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, and Valid driver’s licence
Supervision: 3-4 people
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Own tools/equipment:Â Tools, Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, and Hard hat
Credentials:Â Plumber Trade Certification, Plumber Red Seal Certificate, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems
- They should be able to instruct apprentices and cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings
- The candidates should be able to join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment
- They should be able to test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges and supervise other workers
- The candidates should be able to measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size
