Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have registration with the provincial Practical Nursing regulatory body
Experience: Candidates should have previous working experience with the elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment is considered an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work a schedule of flexible hours

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a valid CPR & First Aid Certification, which is required
  • The candidates should have a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire
  • The candidates having any previous course in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care would be a huge asset
  • The candidates should have a passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document, and direct resident needs in consultation with medical professionals, care conferences, and internal staff
  • The candidates should be able to provide leadership to health services staff, ensuring the provision of quality health services while respecting the client’s right to individualized planning
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with existing management and health services teams to facilitate communication and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • The candidates should be able to administer and record prescribed medication in accordance with company policy and scope of practice
  • The candidates should be able to maintain standards of accurate and complete documentation and reporting
  • The candidates should be able to apply dressings and treatments as per physician’s orders and policy
  • The candidates should be able to assist with supervising and evaluating the job performance and behavior of other healthcare staff
