Salary: $22.90 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Vancouver, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Shift, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Target audience: Elderly, females, persons with physical disabilities
Work setting: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis, note: this is NOT a condition of employment, work in employer’s/client’s home in an urban area

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Experience with special needs children: Assistance with mobility
Credentials: Health Care Aide Certificate
Security and safety: Reference required

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smoking
  • The candidates should be capable of a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be physically capable of handling demanding tasks
  • The candidates should be proficient in performing repetitive tasks and comfortable sitting for extended periods, as well as proficient in walking as part of their job duties
  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure and be capable of handling weights between 45 and 60 kg (100-132 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should exhibit punctuality in their work habits and have a client-focused approach
  • The candidates should demonstrate dependability in meeting deadlines and commitments, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and display excellent oral communication abilities
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances, show initiative in taking on tasks and solving problems, and exercise good judgment in decision-making
  • The candidates should be organized in their approach to work, be reliable in their performance and contributions, and be team players capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, assist in regular exercise such as walking, and feed or assist in feeding
  • The candidates should be able to launder clothing and household linens, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and provide companionship
  • The candidates should be able to provide personal care and prepare and serve nutritious meals
