Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of DEC in mechanical engineering
Experience: Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in maintenance supervision

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to react quickly and effectively in crisis situations
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that their actions align with the company’s defined quality and food safety standards

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to ensure compliance with the SQF Food Safety Code and report any food safety issues to authorized personnel
  • The candidates should have a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering or a related discipline and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with maintenance management software
  • The candidates should exhibit strong technical analysis and planning skills, a solid understanding of continuous improvement processes and demonstrate decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • The candidates should exhibit strong people management skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should be bilingual in French and English (oral and written), with English proficiency required to communicate with suppliers and colleagues outside Quebec

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to ensure that the department’s preventive and corrective service is of high quality and meets optimal standards and direct and guide their department to align with the company’s priorities
  • The candidates should be able to provide adequate supervision to a team of mechanics and electromechanics, including oversight of timesheets, discipline, and overtime
  • The candidates should be able to periodically evaluate service offerings, ensure compliance with agreements, and oversee subcontracting contract renewals
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the availability of qualified personnel, parts, equipment, and materials necessary for planned work completion
  • The candidates should be able to manage inventory, maintain a functional store, and oversee the parts purchasing process
  • The candidates should be able to work towards reducing unplanned production downtime to meet the company’s production objectives
  • The candidates should be able to maintain healthy and effective communication with production and quality departments to focus on priorities and monitor staff training and conduct annual evaluations and ensure all departmental actions comply with health and safety workplace standards
  • The candidates should be able to manage environmental compliance concerning equipment, services, and buildings and oversee and manage maintenance-related projects
  • The candidates should be able to ensure their actions support the production of products that meet the company’s defined quality and food safety standards
