Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Master’s degree of Social Work, Counselling or Psychology
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should acknowledge and value the use of measurement-based care when supporting patients or clients, aiming to guide clinical decision-making
  • The candidates should have registration with applicable regulatory College and experience with facilitating evidence-based therapy groups and individual psychotherapy
  • The candidates should have demonstrated experience in treating trauma, stressor-related disorders, and concurrent psychiatric and substance use disorders
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of standardized and non-standardized assessments and Service-specific training and knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, recovery management Mental Health Act, PHIPA, Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005, Health Care Consent Act are essential
  • The candidates should have experience with integrating case conceptualization models within trauma services and experience treating First Responder, Health-care professionals, and Military populations
  • The candidates should be skilled in assessment of group dynamics and facilitation for group therapy and knowledge and application of relevant mental health acts and community resources
  • The candidates should have knowledge of medical and psychiatric conditions, evaluation techniques, and psychometric properties necessary to evaluate therapeutic interventions and functional status
  • The candidates should demonstrate comprehension of psychiatric emergencies and possess crisis management skills and Formal training in and experience providing CBT, DBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness, Trauma-informed Yoga, Psychotherapy, and Counseling
  • The candidates should have knowledge of concurrent addiction disorders for specific addiction assessment tools and demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and presentation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • The candidates should exhibit exceptional communication and customer service delivery skills and demonstrated success in working independently as well as contributing actively to team objectives

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to conduct clinical assessments, comprehensive evaluations, and prepare collaborative treatment plans and comprehensive reports
  • The candidates should be able to integrate psychosocial assessments into the team’s treatment planning process
  • The candidates should be able to participate with the clinical team in assessments, client reviews, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning
  • The candidates should be able to facilitate evidence-based therapy, psycho-educational programs, and recovery management groups
  • The candidates should be able to provide individual counselling sessions to support specific treatment needs and goals
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with all clinical and program stakeholders
  • The candidates should be able to deliver Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) services, including confidential counselling, case management, direct clinical services, and assessments
  • The candidates should be able to ensure continuity of care through the transfer of information, including outreach to clients, family members, physicians, team members, other service providers, and client personal support networks, utilizing client informed consent processes
  • The candidates should be able to identify and plan for discharge needs, coordinating referrals to appropriate community resources and outpatient counselling
  • The candidates should be able to supervise students, interns, and non-regulated support personnel as appropriate
