Transportation information: Valid Driver’s Licence, Willing to Travel for Extended Periods, and Willing to Travel Overnight

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Transportation/travel experience: Local, Long-haul, National, Provincial/Territorial, Regional, and Short-haul
Documentation knowledge: Accident or Incident Reports, Bill of Lading, Driver Logbook, Inspection Report (Pre-trip, En-route, Post-trip), Maintenance and Repair Reports, and Trip Reports
Own tools/equipment: Cellular Phone, Steel-toed Safety Boots, Tools, and Gloves
Credentials: Driver’s License (Class 3 or D) and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Driver’s validity licence check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to handle attention to detail, handling heavy loads, and a large workload
• The candidates should be able to work overtime when required, and perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks
• The candidates should be able to manage sitting while handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be efficient in interpersonal skills, excellent in oral communication, and flexible
• The candidates should be able to exercise good judgement, be organized, and be reliable
• The candidates should be a team player, hardworking, and patient

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns, and coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
• The candidates should be able to maintain professionalism in customer service, and arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
• The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, and load and unload goods
• The candidates should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, and oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• The candidates should be able to perform emergency roadside repairs, and perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance, and record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• The candidates should be able to tarp and ensure safety and security of cargo
