Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be accustomed to repetitive tasks and able to work under pressure.
• The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and possess good hand-eye coordination
• The candidates should have the ability to distinguish between colors and be able to stand for extended periods
• The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to walk for extended periods

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to ensure the information on prescriptions is accurate and enter client information in databases
• The candidates should be able to help pharmacists and maintain inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products
• The candidates should be able to maintain prescription records and prepare medications for clients
• The candidates should be able to set up and dismantle equipment and supervise and direct activities of other medical technologists or technicians
• The candidates should be able to apply and adjust casts, splints, and bandages and clean and maintain equipment
• The candidates should be able to compound, package, and label pharmaceutical products and design and fabricate ocular implants
• The candidates should be able to help with scheduling and workflow and lay out surgical instruments
• The candidates should be able to prepare and maintain equipment and supplies and reassemble equipment and assemble packs of sterile supplies and instruments for delivery to hospital departments
• The candidates should be able to record information about donors and assist chiropractors with patient health education
• The candidates should be able to assist in supervising personnel who prepare and serve food and clean and dress wounds
• The candidates should be able to operate and maintain sterilization equipment and instrumentation for reuse according to standardized safety practices and take body or limb measurements of patients
• The candidates should be able to bill third-party insurers and compound oral solutions, ointments, and creams
• The candidates should be able to help patients complete menus and maintain inventories of medications and prescription records of pharmaceutical products
• The candidates should be able to process claims such as health insurance or workers’ compensation and collect statistics
• The candidates should be able to maintain supplies and clean and restore ocular prostheses
• The candidates should be able to interpret physicians’ specifications and maintain inventory of equipment
• The candidates should be able to advise patients on the loss of depth perception and perform general clerical duties
• The candidates should be able to manage routine office functions including reception, telephone, and booking appointments
• The candidates should be able to repair and maintain fabrication and laboratory equipment and order supplies and equipment
• The candidates should be able to schedule and confirm appointments
