Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess, or a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program combined with related experience
- The candidates should have active or be eligible for registration and a practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
- The candidates should have completed and maintain up-to-date Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services within the assigned service area
- The candidates should be able to supervise students and team members as assigned, ensuring clinical and professional development
- The candidates should be able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals
- The candidates should be able to make day-to-day clinical decisions based on patient and family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up, advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and effective client care
- The candidates should be able to ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and aligned with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policies and guidelines
- The candidates should be able to coordinate day-to-day operations of the assigned service area, monitor care delivery, identify service needs, and assist with caseload management
- The candidates should be able to complete chart audits and provide follow-up and feedback to staff to support continuous quality improvement, participate in program development, operational planning, and represent the department on committees and program initiatives
- The candidates should be able to make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers
- The candidates should be able to access and collaborate with experienced clinicians across the province through virtual platforms to support their practice, use the Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) to share patient information in real time and enhance the quality of care provided
