Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have recent JK–12 teaching experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be knowledgeable about the Ministerial Directive on Inclusive Schooling and open to diversity
  • The candidates should have experience and training in special education and assessment and promote positive parental engagement
  • The candidates should have general knowledge about Department of Education prescribed curricula
  • The candidates should have experience in developing and implementing support plans and experience in multi-grade classrooms and differentiated instruction
  • The candidates should be familiar with TIENET software and excellent class management skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving ability and use data to make informed instruction-related decisions
  • The candidates should be familiar with the use of assistive technologies and excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, staff, and other professionals in English and French
  • The candidates should have a very good understanding of literacy and numeracy development
  • The candidates should be able to work creatively and collaboratively with a variety of education partners
  • The candidates should have excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills and demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to supervise student support plans and assess students as required under the supervision of the school principal
  • The candidates should be able to develop and adapt programs and material resources to meet teacher and student
  • The candidates should be able to work with teachers in a coaching capacity to support their professional development and maintain student records accurately and confidentially
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate effectively with teachers, school staff, and parents or guardians to support student learning and development
  • The candidates should be able to implement and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) and other student support plans
  • The candidates should be able to provide guidance and support to teachers on effective instructional strategies and interventions
  • The candidates should be able to participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and other school activities
  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents or guardians, and administrators
  • The candidates should be able to stay updated on best practices and developments in education and student support services
