Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of an accredited nursing program
Experience: Candidates should have at least two years of nursing experience as an asset, along with certification in First Aid and CPR
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have demonstrate flexibility in accommodating assigned shifts, which will vary based on operational needs, including days, evenings, weekends, overnights, and statutory holidays
- The candidates should have travel to mobile events in various communities, with transportation provided by Canadian Blood Services
- The candidates should meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting weights of up to 10 kg (22 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have demonstrate successful maintain a current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse within the province
- The candidates should apply previous experience as a preceptor or in coaching others to enhance team development and support
- The candidates should be utilize technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, while adapting to new systems and programs
- The candidates should have communicate effectively in a second language to enhance donor experiences and interactions
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with donors to conduct registration and confidential screening, ensuring eligibility while promoting a positive donor experience
- The candidates should be able to provide donors with clear information, instruction, and advice about blood donation processes
- The candidates should be able to offer coaching and consultation to donor centre staff, stepping into a team lead role during collection events
- The candidates should be able to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment, assisting in the collection of whole blood and/or apheresis blood components that contribute to saving lives daily
- The candidates should be able to participate in mobile community events by setting up booths, tables, and equipment to ensure donor clinics are prepared for operation effectively
