Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed an accredited nursing program
Experience: Candidates should have two years of experience working as a nurse

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be available to work at the Downtown and Oak Street locations and be available to work days including Monday through Saturday
  • The candidates should be able to work shifts with hours from 07:45 to 15:45 or 10:45 to 18:45 and meet the physical requirement of lifting weights up to 10 kg (22 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have hold a current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province
  • The candidates should possess certification in First Aid and CPR and prior experience as a preceptor or coaching others
  • The candidates should have technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, and the ability to learn new systems and programs

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with donors by conducting registration and confidential eligibility screenings, ensuring a positive donor experience
  • The candidates should be able to provide donors with clear information, instructions, and advice on the blood donation process to foster engagement and confidence
  • The candidates should be able to coach and consult donor center staff, serving as team lead for collection events
  • The candidates should be able to work collaboratively in diverse team environments to support the collection of whole blood and apheresis components essential for saving lives
  • The candidates should be able to participate in community mobile events, setting up booths, tables, and necessary equipment to ensure clinics are efficiently prepared for operations
  • The candidates should be able to use interpersonal skills to build donor trust, enhance experiences, and maintain the organization’s reputation for excellence
