Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of an accredited nursing program and hold a current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province
Experience: Candidates should have 2 years of experience working as a nurse

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be available to work on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
  • The candidates should be able to work shifts with the following start and stop times: 0730-1330, 0745-1345, 0815-1415, 0830-1430, 1330-1930, and 1430-2030
  • The candidates should have rest days that may include Saturday/Sunday or Sunday/Monday

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a certification in First Aid and CPR and previous experience as a preceptor or with coaching others
  • The candidates should have technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, and the ability to learn new systems and programs
  • The candidates should have a second language (an asset) to support a positive donor experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with donors to conduct registration and confidential screening, determine eligibility, and build and promote a positive donor experience
  • The candidates should be able to utilize strong people skills to provide donors with information, instruction, and advice on plasma donation
  • The candidates should be able to draw on their knowledge and experience to provide coaching and consultation to donor centre staff and act as a team lead for collection events
  • The candidates should be able to work in a diverse team environment, assisting in the collection of plasma, which saves lives daily
  • The candidates should be able to assist at mobile events within communities, setting up booths, tables, and other equipment to ensure donor clinics are properly set up for use
