Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in collaborating within working groups and projects

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Internationally accredited accountants must demonstrate eligibility to proceed directly to membership with the provincial CPA body for the region in which they live fully exempt from CPA PEP
  • The candidates should have recent experience in internal audit, program evaluation, policy analysis, or performance measurement, with a strong focus on applying analysis and research techniques
  • The candidates should have recent experience in reporting and presenting research and analysis findings in written documents reports, briefing notes, program or policy documentation
  • The candidates should have experience in briefing management on the results of complex research and analysis, both verbally and in writing
  • The candidates should possess excellent time management skills to ensure engagements are completed within budget and time constraints
  • The candidates should have strong analytical skills to assess multi-dimensional problems and audit issues and highly proficient in the use of MS Office Suite Excel and Word
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Canadian Standards on Assurance Engagements (CSAE) and experience in health administration or public health

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan, conduct fieldwork, and report on performance audits in accordance with professional standards and Office methodology
  • The candidates should be able to develop detailed audit plans, document and evaluate systems, and test transactions
  • The candidates should be able to evaluate complex information from various subject areas, identify and evaluate audit findings, and write report sections summarizing assigned audit work
  • The candidates should be able to assist in the training and development of junior staff by acting as a coach or mentor and accommodate limited travel within Nova Scotia
