Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion or near completion of a Bachelor of Social Work
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be seasoned social workers, social work students, or anticipated social work graduates
  • The candidates should possess knowledge and experience in social work practice relating to the well-being of children, youth, and families, with an awareness of diverse cultural circumstances
  • The candidates should demonstrate exceptional organizational skills with expertise in case management, risk management, and decision-making
  • The candidates should be effective communicators committed to service delivery excellence and relationship building
  • The candidates should be self-aware, recognizing the need for self-care when managing high-stress situations
  • The candidates should provide a recent and satisfactory Criminal Records Check from the local police
  • The candidates should provide a recent and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
  • The candidates should provide a Child Protection Clearance Check satisfactory to the Employer
  • The candidates should be registered with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW)
  • The candidates should provide proof of a valid class 5 driver’s license

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to conduct risk and safety assessments
  • The candidates should be able to develop intervention plans
  • The candidates should be able to provide counseling and case management for children, youth, and families of a variety of backgrounds
  • The candidates should be able to complete documentation in accordance with professional standards of practice, and policies and procedures of the department
  • The candidates should be able to address family dynamics and complex psychosocial factors
  • The candidates should be able to conduct home or agency visits and support community-based services
  • The candidates should be able to screen, identify, and prioritize referrals for service
  • The candidates should be able to prepare reports, complete legal documents, and provide testimony in court as required

Benefits:
