Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completed high school
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience in warehouse, supply chain, logistics, supply, or airline operations
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations depending on the work location. More details are available on the Transport Canada website
- The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time of any employment offer. Obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations is the sole responsibility of the applicants and be available to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to use a computer and navigate through various software applications and hold a valid driver’s license
- The candidates should meet Air Canada medical standards, as employees in this role conduct safety-critical work. A medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test, will be required, and candidates must be free of any intoxicating substances
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform technical work in planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance and renovation activities related to metal fabrication and welding
- The candidates should be able to perform hands-on fieldwork in all weather conditions and follow accepted standards, techniques, and practices
- The candidates should be able to manage activities and projects within approved budgets and administer contracts
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret plan drawings to accurately cut and shape metal pieces
- The candidates should be able to use various welding techniques to join components together and perform quality checks on welds
- The candidates should be able to assemble fabricated structures and ensure adherence to safety procedures while working with different types of metals and welding equipment
- The candidates should be able to obtain permits and restore parkland structures, including metal stairs and doors, chain-link fencing, backstops, gates, and barriers and perform other trade-related duties
