Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Grade 10
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to handle frequent physical demands, including lifting between floor to above shoulders, capable of lifting 25-50 pounds on a regular basis
  • The candidates should be comfortable with bending at knees, bending forward, pushing, pulling, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and standing and walking for much of the shift
  • The candidates should be physically capable to walk and stand for the duration of their shift and perform repetitive physical movements

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a minimum Grade 10 education. General knowledge of cleaning techniques and methods
  • The candidates should possess good customer service and interpersonal skills and successfully completed a basic housekeeping program
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • The candidates should be experienced in arm, wrist, elbow, and shoulder work for much of the shift
  • The candidates should have the ability to climb ladders and use manual cleaning equipment such as wet and dry mops, dusters, cleaning cloths, toilet brushes, squeegees, scrapers
  • The candidates should be proficient in using power cleaning equipment such as buffers, striping machines, auto scrubbers, burnishers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide cleaning and housekeeping duties in patient rooms and other facility areas
  • The candidates should be able to operate, clean, and store housekeeping equipment properly and dispose of wastes according to established procedures
  • The candidates should be able to prepare, assemble, and serve safe, high-quality meals and menu items
  • The candidates should be able to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the facility
