Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as a a Baccalaureate in Nursing
Experience: Candidates should have ten (10) years recent experience of a clinical health care setting

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have five (5) years of experience in Public Health or Community Health
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of program management
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals, agencies, elected community leaders, and employees in order to communicate program information, including the ability to obtain and respond to feedback from these individuals
  • The candidates should have interpersonal skills, including effective communication, coaching, and motivation, in order to provide leadership to Public Health Nursing and their support staff

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to research and recommend patient care quality standards as they relate to the public health services provided to all age groups ranging from neonate to geriatrics
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with Territorial, Regional, and professional practice leadership to establish performance improvement activities and ensure competency of community health centre personnel is maintained
  • The candidates should be able to address a variety of issues on a daily basis, including addressing client complaints, providing briefing notes to the Director of Public Health and Primary Care Services, providing advice and direction to other Territorial Leads, Territorial Specialists, and Regional Managers, and representing the NTHSSA in meetings or conferences
