Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a four-year honors university degree in Journalism and Communications
Experience: Candidates should have five years of related work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, or journalism

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have proven ability to develop and implement innovative marketing and communications plans
  • The candidates should have proven ability to work successfully under pressure, including prioritizing workload, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have excellent knowledge of and expertise in using social media platforms, including current and emerging ones
  • The candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills, including proven ability to exercise judgment, tact, diplomacy, and discretion

  • The candidates should possess strong knowledge of the University’s culture and institutional goals and objectives
  • The candidates should have experience in creating, writing, editing, and producing marketing and communications materials required to support events and activities
  • The candidates should have specific experience in developing content and monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of web-based communication vehicles and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to conceptualize and develop marketing and communication plans, as well as execute tactics to promote and support Faculty-based events and activities
  • The candidates should be able to manage the Faculty’s social media platforms, maintain a content strategy and digital media schedule, and expand the Faculty’s social media presence and engagement
  • The candidates should be able to develop and execute strategies to boost followers across all social media platforms effectively
  • The candidates should be able to manage and produce content that communicates and promotes the Faculty’s students, faculty, and achievements to internal and external stakeholders
  • The candidates should be able to create content for use in the Faculty and/or University’s print and digital publications and online presence
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that all communications and marketing materials meet the highest standards, conveying consistent messaging, accurate information, quality presentation, and adherence to a common visual identity
  • The candidates should be able to accurately incorporate the Faculty of Engineering and Design’s unique obligations to professional and licensing bodies into all communications and marketing materials
