Credentials: Food and beverage server trade certificate, Smart Serve, Food Safety Certificate, and Safe Food Handling certificate

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages and enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
- The candidates should be able to prepare and serve specialty food at customers’ tables and serve food and beverages
- The candidates should be able to greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages
- The candidates should be able to describe menu items, including daily specials, advise on menu selections, and describe and advise on wine selection
- The candidates should be able to take orders and relay them to kitchen and bar staff and present bills to customers, accepting payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travelers’ cheques, or room billings
- The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns, assist clients/guests with special needs, and provide excellent customer service
- The candidates should be able to clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs, and balance cash while recording sales
