Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of post-secondary program in Water Resources Engineering Technology, Chemical Technology, or Biological Sciences Technology
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to follow operating laboratory procedures to maintain Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation (CALA)
- The candidates should have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- The candidates should have the physical ability to perform the assigned duties, possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid, recognized first aid certificate
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be graduates from a recognized two-year, or eligible for membership in a constituent member of the Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists in the bioscience, chemical, or water resources engineering technology field
- The candidates should possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence, provide a current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record
- The candidates should have knowledge of water quality and treatment processes, possess skills in the operation of a computer to summarize data
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assist with analyses of surface water, groundwater, storm sewer, wastewater, industrial waste and prepare laboratory solutions
- The candidates should be able to assist with special tests, including investigations related to environmental inquiries, complaints, and surveys, assist with the preparation of summaries of data for reports
- The candidates should be able to assist with the performance of field tests and environmental sampling for water, wastewater, air, and soil
- The candidates should be able to collect samples and maintain equipment for the industrial monitoring program
- The candidates should be able to prepare materials and equipment for tests and analyses, including performing routine maintenance
- The candidates should be able to clean laboratory work areas, including glassware replacement, perform other related duties
