Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have BS or MS degree in Computer Science or similar
Experience: Candidates should have recent 3-5 years of DevOps Development experience integrating development tooling along with 3rd parties to automate the software delivery processes

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be experienced in the full SDLC from requirements & design to production deployments
  • The candidates should possess the ability to assess best practices and technical aspects of a product & solution and align them with an overall automation strategy
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to define and communicate a plan around how automation of the delivery process will be established with concrete goals, milestones, and objectives, and track and adjust that plan as needed
  • The candidates should be capable of articulating the value of automating various delivery activities and weighing the cost benefits of each automation
  • The candidates should have experience in architecting for reuse and balancing the need for expediency with the efficiencies gained with increased flexibility
  • The candidates should exhibit effective communication skills and must be comfortable presenting the Global DevOps technical strategy to internal executive management as well as external customer leadership
  • The candidates should be willing and ready to share and teach project resources in multiple areas of the software development lifecycle
  • The candidates should be experienced with Source Control Management Systems such as GitLab, GitHub, BitBucket
  • The candidates should have experience in Build Automation using Maven, Gradle, Ant
  • The candidates should possess experience in Configuration Management, preferably with Ansible, Rundeck, Puppet/Chef
  • The candidates should have proficiency in CI/CD Pipeline Development using GitLab and Jenkins
  • The candidates should have experience with artifact repository and static code analysis tools like Artifactory and SonarQube
  • The candidates should be comfortable with Linux/Unix systems and must be adept at using a command-line interface, particularly with CentOS / RHEL 7 (Preferred) and Ubuntu
  • The candidates should have experience in Containers and Container management platforms, including Rancher, Docker, Kubernetes, and Mesos
  • The candidates should be proficient in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, JSON, YAML, XML/XSLT, Python, and Groovy
  • The candidates should have experience working in Scrum, Agile, and DevOps environments
  • The candidates should have a proven track record of implementing DevOps pipelines and assisting in driving adoption

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to lead the implementation and facilitate the adoption of the DevOps toolchain as a DevOps Architect
  • The candidates should be able to understand the customer business, technology, and operations landscape and advise on improvements to process, methodologies, technologies, and automation to streamline and improve the entire product lifecycle maintenance of services
  • The candidates should be able to create and evolve the DevOps strategy, processes, development tools, and methodology
  • The candidates should be able to develop strategies for automated Tools Infrastructure, CI Platform, Application Provisioning, Deployment, and Configuration and Management
  • The candidates should be able to convert requirements to a cost-efficient solution and design requirements, overseeing the design execution and ensuring handover with a well-defined LCM strategy
  • The candidates should be able to interact intensely with customers & stakeholders to align the continuously changing requirements and customer demands to influence internal priorities and strategy
  • The candidates should be able to lead transformations by providing analysis and strategy for onboarding products and solutions to the automation toolchain
  • The candidates should be able to define and implement metrics to demonstrate business value delivered from the adoption of automation tools & technologies
  • The candidates should be able to perform maturity assessments and develop strategies and plans to drive maturity within the solution delivery
  • The candidates should be able to set the strategic direction and provide technical leadership for the evolution of the CI and CD pipeline, enabling the automated delivery of software from development teams to pre-production and production environments
  • The candidates should be able to define the functional and non-functional requirements of the Development Environment ecosystem
  • The candidates should be able to define and document the architecture of the Development Environment
  • The candidates should be able to establish governance and ensure adherence to the defined architecture
  • The candidates should be able to evaluate new industry trends and technologies that could improve the coverage and speed of feedback loops
  • The candidates should be able to develop, test, and integrate new tools/technologies into the software development pipeline
  • The candidates should be able to drive the rollout and adoption of new software pipeline tools
  • The candidates should be able to identify requirements on the Product Portfolio needed to facilitate fast feedback loops
  • The candidates should be able to actively mentor developers, designers, and testers, and participate in technical reviews to ensure the viability, correctness, and direction of proposed solutions
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate new pipeline features internally and to other R&D units
  • The candidates should be able to participate in Customer Meetings as a technical evangelist for CI, CD, and DevOps
  • The candidates should be able to participate in internal Ericsson Architecture teams, ensuring Ericsson’s IT and TE environments and services are as needed to facilitate an automated software pipeline
