Requirements:

Experience: Candidates should have three years of current journeyperson experience in the construction or industrial plant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should have the ability to interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications and the ability to plan and organize work
- The candidate should have the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- The candidate should have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and the physical ability to perform the assigned duties
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should possess a Saskatchewan Journeyperson Plumber Certificate, including an Apprenticeship Certificate and a General Gas Fitter Licence

- The candidate should possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence and provide a current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record
- The candidate should have the ability to obtain, a valid first aid certificate and knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment of the plumbing trade
- The candidate should have knowledge of the Provincial Plumbing and Gas Fitting Codes and knowledge of heating and ventilation systems, including boilers, pumps, and pneumatic controls
- The candidate should provide an acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) upon offer of employment
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to install, maintain, and repair plumbing equipment and install, repair, and renovate steam, water, and gas pipelines in accordance with the Provincial Plumbing and Gas Fitting Codes
- The candidates should be able to install and repair mechanical systems and controls, and repair pneumatic controls and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
- The candidates should be able to perform preventative maintenance of plumbing, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, and mechanical systems in accordance with predetermined maintenance schedules and conduct backflow testing and inspections
- The candidates should be able to initiate and complete work orders and prepare sketches for “as-built” drawings and inspect blueprints for plumbing and mechanical systems, designing modifications and installations in existing facilities
- The candidates should be able to prepare material and labour cost estimates for mechanical projects and annual maintenance budgets and order plumbing supplies and apply for gas and plumbing permits
- The candidates should be able to supervise and inspect the work of subordinate staff and plumbing contractors to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards and provide instruction and training in plumbing techniques
- The candidates should be able to ensure adherence to proper safety procedures and use of proper protective equipment and transport material, equipment, and staff to and from job sites, perform other related duties, including non-trade duties
