Requirements:

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide exemplary frontline customer service to internal and external clients, including intake and release of animals at the front counter and dispatching service calls to Animal Control Officers
- The candidates should be able to respond to and log customer inquiries and requests related to City by-laws and animal services, including lost and found, fees, adoption, and euthanasia and provide administrative support to the Animal Services team to ensure operational needs of the section are met
- The candidates should be able to act as the first point of contact for animal drop-offs and discharges by receiving and discharging various species of domestic animals and wildlife, ensuring required paperwork is completed and issued and and renew licences for sale to veterinary clinics, recreation centres, and the public, track batches and payment receipts, and coordinate the annual inspection and tag issuance by Animal Control Officers
- The candidates should be able to dispatch service calls to Animal Control Officers in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, ensuring calls and complaints are managed in priority sequence
- The candidates should be able to prepare daily financial records, including remittances, deposits, and cheque requisitions, and receive and process payments related to animal services, ensuring all documentation is provided to the Collections Department and coordinate and prepare staff time and labour entries
- The candidates should be able to maintain the sectional filing system and electronic databases with new and updated information and generate reports for review by Management and assist with the preparation and completion of correspondence and documentation, including animal investigations, crown briefs, and affidavits, liaising with internal and external resources
- The candidates should be able to prepare meeting minutes, reports, and correspondence, including animal bites and requests for prosecution and assist with training new Animal Services and Call Centre staff as it relates to section-specific software and standard operating procedures
- The candidates should be able to order office supplies and maintain an inventory of information available to the public pamphlets, brochures, and flyers and liaise with Fleet Services to coordinate vehicle maintenance requests for the Animal Services fleet
