Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should meet the medical fitness standards set by the police force
- The candidates should be capable of passing the Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (PARE) test to police standards
- The candidates should be of minimum 19 years of age
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada
- The candidates should have no criminal convictions for which a pardon has not been granted, and they should have no criminal charges pending before the courts
- The candidates should demonstrate good moral character and habits, portraying themselves as individuals that others would look upon as being trustworthy and having integrity
- The candidates should possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license
- The candidates should not have been declined entry to the APA in the last 5 years or be on a current deferral from attending the APA
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to attend the Atlantic Police Academy in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, and pass the Police Science Cadet Program in good standing, which includes an On-the-Job training period with the FPF
- The candidates should be able to complete a one-year probationary period in good standing
- The candidates should be able to commit to a minimum of 2 years of service with the Fredericton Police Force
