Work setting: Child care centre, Nursery school, Kindergarten, Before and after school programs, Willing to relocate, Day care centre or nursery school
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Credentials:Â Child development supervisor (ECE level 3) and Child development worker (ECE level 2)
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers and assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
- The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, and guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, and discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- The candidates should have knowledge of licensing regulations and be able to attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children
- The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
