Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Pre-school education

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks
  • The candidates should have attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • They should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, and encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • They should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, and attend staff meetings to further discuss progress and problems of children
  • The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
