Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Post-secondary degree or diploma in Audiovisual Technology, or equivalent
Experience: Candidates should have 2-3 years of experience in a municipal or community related environment with proven experience in audiovisual support, event planning and execution in a project team environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure
  • The candidates should be detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to prioritize tasks and meet critical deadlines
  • The candidates should have regular access to a vehicle

  • The candidates should hold a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certificate

  • The candidates should have the ability to work with mobile technologies and applications and possess strong customer service and people management skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and have excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with community groups and/or the private sector, as well as other levels of government
  • The candidates should have strong organizational and time management skills
  • The candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • The candidates should hold a valid, non-probationary Ontario Class G driver’s license

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide customer service excellence to internal/external clients and support the City of Brampton’s Facility Events Strategy AV operations and support for events held in downtown Brampton facilities
  • The candidates should be able to supervise staff and coordinate, implement, and set up AV event logistics to ensure a proactive approach to AV delivery for new and existing clients and able to liaise with all stakeholders to ensure the smooth technical operation of the facility
  • The candidates should be able to work in tandem with the Sr. Coordinator, Events, and Associate, Facility Support on internal/external events and able to act as a liaison between clients and IT as required
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with internal/external clients regarding the exact A/V requirements and floorplan for events (such as location of equipment, assistance with PowerPoint presentations, audio and video conferences)
  • The candidates should be able to interact with clients, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally and able to assist in formulating AV standards/work procedures
  • The candidates should be able to manage external tech companies when required and able to serve as an AV subject matter expert
  • The candidates should be able to provide feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery and be responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and providing ongoing supervision of staff
  • The candidates should be able to maintain corporate, departmental, and divisional standards by ensuring the quality and accuracy of work of direct reports and able to provide advice, guidance, and direction to staff to ensure the successful delivery of AV operations services
  • The candidates should be able to provide ongoing feedback to staff, including discipline when required, and assign/coordinate tasks to direct reports and able to evaluate the training needs of staff and develop, maintain, and conduct training sessions on the selection, use, and implementation of audio-visual equipment and operation
  • The candidates should be able to support, lead, and mentor Facility Technicians and able to ensure that system or program delivery is meeting customer expectations and service standards
  • The candidates should be able to ensure compliance with governing legislations and regulations, corporate policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines and able to attend and ensure the seamless execution of internal/external events and assist in event set-up and takedown
  • The candidates should be able to maintain A/V equipment, including routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and inventory control, and clean and maintain A/V equipment, reporting damages and service improvements to the Sr. Coordinator, Events
  • The candidates should be able to purchase A/V equipment as required and maintain the overall condition of the facility, including all technical equipment (such as sound, lighting, audio-visual)
