Salary: $24.13 to $34.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 to 50 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time

Shifts: Day, Overtime
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer, office building, natural resources, logging sites, forestry and logging, forest industry
Resource usage and environmental studies: slope stability studies
Type of harvesting: Saw log harvesting, pulpwood harvesting

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Area of specialization: Timber harvesting or production, survey, logging company, layout, forest engineering and harvesting, forest measurement and inventory assessment
Survey specialization: land survey
Technical experience:
Mapping and surveying, forest cover mapping
Computer and technology knowledge: Map creation software
Security and safety: Driver’s validity licence check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, in wet or damp conditions, in hot environments, and in cold or refrigerated environments
  • The candidates should be capable of handling physically demanding tasks, able to stand for extended periods, and comfortable with bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate good judgment, be a team player, demonstrate initiative, and have a positive attitude

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to resolve work problems, provide technical advice, recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality, and provide estimates of costs
  • The candidates should be able to operate GPS and other navigation equipment, operate all-terrain vehicles (ATV), and examine plans, drawings, and site layouts
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that construction permits are obtained, use maps and other trip planning aids, follow directions, read maps, and be proficient in MS Office
  • The candidates should be able to determine precise geographic locations using global positioning systems (GPS) equipment and generate maps and related graphs and charts
