Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of post-secondary education in business or food science
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to make quick decisions in a fast-paced production environment
  • The candidates should have a strong sense of urgency, with the drive to solve complex problems and improve efficiency and work with minimal supervision

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have strong communication skills and a meat science background and possess strong mathematical knowledge and skills
  • The candidates should have excellent computer skills, including proficiency with SAP, Format, Excel, and Word

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to manage raw material inventories, produce daily formulations from the Format computer program and run weekly production requirements for raw materials based on production plans
  • The candidates should be able to communicate closely with Procurement to ensure plant requirements are met by adjusting raw material orders and produce STO orders from storage warehouses for raw materials and manage tempering of raw materials with 3rd party storage
  • The candidates should be able to communicate substitutions to production when the called-for raw material is unavailable and re-formulate and be part of the team that investigates non-compliance production issues  produce Process Orders for production from SAP
  • The candidates should be able to set up preblending raw material requirements for the next day’s production and enter raw material and WIP inventory counts into SAP and work during the day but may require occasional work on off shifts and weekends based on business requirements
  • The candidates should be able to cross-train within the scheduling and/or materials department to cover for vacations and maximize frozen raw material usage in formulations and preblends when cost-effective
  • The candidates should be able to meet plant fill rate and conformance targets with regards to having enough materials to satisfy production demands and schedules and run least cost formulations to achieve targeted cost savings
  • The candidates should be able to achieve measurable reductions in tankage of raw materials and participate in other Continuous Improvement projects
