Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have possess 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume operation or a similar role
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length
- The candidates should be able to lift 22 kg (50 lbs) regularly
- The candidates should be able to push and pull equipment of various sizes and weights
- The candidates should be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform tasks that require grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, hearing ability, and visual acuity
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a Certificate of Completion or Journeyman papers from an approved Culinary Institute
- The candidates should have knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control
- The candidates should demonstrate organizing and coordinating skills
- The candidates should have the ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- The candidates should possess knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques
- The candidates should be capable of planning work schedules and assigning duties, as well as providing or arranging for training
- The candidates should have the ability to develop and test recipes and/or techniques for food preparation and presentation
- The candidates should be experienced in mentoring apprentices and other kitchen staff
- The candidates should have skill in cooking and preparing a variety of food
- The candidates should be able to work in a team environment
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to supervise the work of cooks and other kitchen employees to ensure that food preparation is economical and technically correct
- The candidates should be able to conduct regular physical inventories of food supplies and assess projected needs
- The candidates should be able to ensure that a high standard of sanitation and cleanliness is maintained throughout kitchen areas at all times
- The candidates should be able to establish controls to minimize food and supply waste and theft
- The candidates should be able to safeguard all food preparation employees by implementing training to increase their knowledge about safety, sanitation, and accident prevention principles
- The candidates should be able to cook or directly supervise the cooking of items that require skillful preparation
- The candidates should be able to evaluate food products to ensure that quality standards are consistently attained
- The candidates should be able to maintain an open and professional dialogue with the Executive Chef, F&B Manager, Assistant F&B Manager, F.O.H Supervisors, Culinary Staff, and Servers at all times
- The candidates should be able to attend all staff meetings
- The candidates should be able to endeavor to surpass guest expectations
- The candidates should be able to ensure never to say no to a guest request without offering an alternative
- The candidates should be able to manage any disciplinary action
- The candidates should be able to be flexible with days/hours worked in regard to business levels, etc.
