Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience in progressively responsible H and S roles

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have previous experience working supporting a large client group in a fast-paced environment within specified time frames
  • The candidates should demonstrate knowledge of compliance and regulatory training for all personnel working onsite and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The candidates should be proficient in computer skills, specifically in the Microsoft Office suite of software – MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • The candidates should have previous experience working with regulatory bodies such as the Ministry of Labour or Ministry of the Environment
  • The candidates should have knowledge in WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) claims management, which would also be considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and construct Safe Work Procedures (SWP), identifying basic job steps, tasks, associated hazards, and risks. They should also develop safe operating procedures and hazard controls to sustain OHS maturity and growth
  • The candidates should be able to enforce the business’s Golden Rules and other site programs through cross-functional team meetings and maintain OHS metrics and documentation and present this information to applicable parties
  • The candidates should be able to design and deliver training programs for workers, management, and Safety Committee members to comply with legislative requirements and improve Health, Safety, Emergency, and Security
  • The candidates should be able to assist in reducing Health and Safety risks and hazards through on-site behavioral observations and targeted audits and and monitor on-site Contractor OHS programs for compliance with regulations
  • The candidates should be able to support Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews (PSRs) for the installation of new equipment, structures, protective elements, or processes, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • The candidates should be able to respond to accidents, provide first aid, and support proper investigation and follow-up
  • The candidates should be able to support emergency management activities, including drills, tabletop exercises, evacuation support, and response to the incident command structure during emergencies
  • The candidates should be able to maintain content and conduct data analysis of supporting software for site programs SAP, iWarehouse, iNet, Alchemy Systems, other PPE or vendor-specific platforms
  • The candidates should be able to maintain records and documentation for all programs under their purview, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality of employee information
  • The candidates should be able to support and influence multiple levels of management within the organization
