Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Grade 8 education
Experience: Candidates should have 1 year housekeeping and/or laundry experience in a commercial or institutional setting

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be aware that this is a Highly Sensitive Position, and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • The candidates should spend extended periods standing or walking while performing cleaning duties. This includes moving between rooms, hallways, and different areas within healthcare facilities

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should consider fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages
  • The candidates should know that this opportunity is restricted to Nunavut Inuit who reside in Kugaaruk only
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and Inuktut
  • The candidates should also have experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to take care of general housekeeping, laundry, and linen services to ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the facility to improve appearance and reduce the risk of infection and disease
  • The candidates should be able to take responsibility for the day-to-day housekeeping and laundry of the facility, providing these services for patients and other workers as assigned
  • The candidates should be able to maintain direct impact on the public’s perception of cleanliness, appearance, and overall health of the facility

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get Northern allowance of $27,465 yearly
